1. Why did you choose to study in Australia?

I'm from the Philippines, I decided to pursue my study in Australia because I believe I will be able to earn world-class knowledge while having time to enjoy my personal life. I also want to develop a better understanding of other cultures and businesses which will help me improve my own. Australian schools are globally recognized due to their high-quality education, and I trust that I will gain competence to make my business successful.

2. How was IDP able to help you?

When I was in the Philippines, I consulted with different agencies. I was disheartened because I felt that they were not interested in helping me. Only Ms. Sasha from IDP provided genuine assistance and care in my student visa application. She has been very positive and uplifting and supported me and my de facto partner throughout the entire process.

3. Are there any (major) challenges you faced?

It was a bit of a challenge when my de facto partner had to rush in coming to Australia in time to lodge our visa. Following IDP's professional advice, it was the best and least expensive option for us. We're glad that we listened because our visa got granted in just less than 24 hours!

4. What are your goals for your career in Australia?

I aspire to become a professional cook and eventually a chef here in Australia. As a Filipino, I want to create outstanding fusion dishes and hopefully open my own food business.

5. Is there any advice for international students?

1. Pray - It works!

2. Listen to your IDP Education Counsellor - They know what they're doing and they work on what's best for you.

3. Trust the process - Stay optimistic and don't overthink. There are times when you may feel overwhelmed and hopeless, but everything will work out. Know that all things happen in God's perfect time. And you're in good hands with IDP!
