There are two types of scholarships available for international students. There are ones that are funded directly from the institution, and you’ll find these opportunities listed on their website. The eligibility criteria and application process will be different for all universities, so ensure you follow their guidelines.
The other scholarships are government-funded ones. Make sure you investigate thoroughly which ones you qualify for.
This scholarship is available for undergraduate students. It is open to students studying any subject at Simon Fraser University.
Benefits: This fund will pay an educational fund to cover course costs and a living allowance.
Be completing an ungraduated degree at Simon Fraser university
Have final grades that meet academic requirements
Be enrolled for at least 12 SFU standard graded units
Demonstrate engagement in your scholar community
To apply, follow the process as outlined on their website. You must provide a transcript for your grades for all courses.
2021-22
This award is applied for automatically if you meet the criteria. You do not need to make a scholarship application.
Benefits: A tuition reduction of 30 credits will be applied to a student’s final 30 credits on their BA or BCom degree.
Be starting a BCom or BA in Business Communication
Have a GPA of 2.33 or more
Have not applied for any other scholarship
This scholarship is for international students studying towards their Master, Bachelor, or PhD program. This is for all subjects taught at CDI College.
Benefits: The fund covers tuition fees.
Be studying a degree at CDI college
Have completed relevant previous study
Must meet minimum grade standards
This scholarship is available to students from any ASEAN country. It is applied for on your behalf by your Canadian learning institution.
CA$10,200 for undergraduate or graduate students for four months minimum, or one academic term
CA$12,700 for mater or PhD students for five to six months of research or study
CA$15,900 for undergraduate or college students for eight months or two terms of study
These funds can cover visa fees, airfares, health insurance, living expenses, transport costs, or relevant academic needs such as textbooks or supplies.
If a student is interested in this scholarship, it is suggested they advise relevant people of their interest and submit a one-page letter of intent that outlines how your chosen field of study contributes to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This goal is to combat poverty in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and/ or Vietnam.
Eligibility criteria:
Be studying full time in your tertiary institution in their home country
Not have Canadian citizenship or PR
Must be studying in a field that aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
Not already participating in an exchange scholarship
Submit a letter of intent
This award is for faculty and staff at tertiary institutions in CARICOM countries. It allows for short term exchanges to allow for professional development, research, or graduate study at a Canadian tertiary institution. The Canadian institute will apply on your behalf.
Benefits:
CA$2,700 for faculty members for two to three weeks of research or course work that contributes to your professional development
CA$2,700 for international managers, administrators, or directors for two or three weeks of course work related to internationalization or student mobility
CA$9,700 for faculty members for five or six moths of research or study at a graduate level
These funds can cover visa fees, airfares, health insurance, living expenses, transport costs, or relevant academic needs such as textbooks or supplies.
Be a citizen of a CARICOM country
Be employed full time at a tertiary institute as faculty or an international liaison manager/offer
Not be a Canadian citizen or PR or have applied for one
Not be participating in an exchange scholarship currently
Already be enrolled in a tertiary Canadian program
