North-Eastern follows the guidelines provided by IRCC Canada and As per director of online studies done prior to April 30, 2021, will count towards the calculation of postgraduate work permit. We do not know if this date will be extended by IRCC .

Hi there, I'm Andy from Queen Mary, University of London. So the answer is no, although it's important to know that you'll need to have undertaken some in-person study to be eligible for the visa. So, for example, students who joined us in September 2020 or January 2021, it's perfectly fine for them to have begun studying their programs online. But the current government guidance is that they must have joined us by at least the 6th of April 2021 in order to be eligible for the post study work visa. And we do expect this to be possible for the vast majority of our international students.

Studying online during this pandemic won't actually impact your eligibility or study work visa, however, if you have studied online in 2019 and you are using that qualification to apply for your post study work visa, then you might it might impact your study. So you should actually consult with an education expert as you may not qualify to meet the Australian study requirement.

You will be eligible for postgraduation work permit if distance or online learning make up no more than 50 percent of your total program of study.

Under COVID-19 you can complete 100% of your studies online from outside Canada. All of the time you spend studying online from outside Canada between Spring 2020 and December 31 2021 counts towards the length of a PGWP. For more information, please visit the IRCC website.
