Some graduates also choose to pursue advanced studies in professional fields such as law, social work, and education.



As an undergraduate student, you can actively engage in our vibrant McMaster Political Science Students Association (MPSSA) and participate in events like the annual Model United Nations.



Our foundational Level I courses will introduce you to the basics of politics, power, and political governance. In upper years, you can specialize in Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, Public Policy, or International Relations, tailoring your education to your interests and career goals. Electives outside the department will broaden your perspective, providing a multidisciplinary approach that enriches your understanding of societal dynamics and enhances your ability to connect political science principles with a broader academic context.

IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening), results valid for 2 years
TOEFL- IBT: 86 overall with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening), valid for 2 years
