Saginaw Valley State University was founded in 1963 and is one of 15 public universities in Michigan. It has five colleges and many programs of study. At SVSU, students can choose from over 90 programs of study that lead to one of ten baccalaureate degrees, or one of 15 graduate programs including 14 masters degrees and one doctoral program. The university graduate programs offer international students a high quality graduate education with advanced understanding and working knowledge in their field of study. The English Language Program helps students prepare for university life in the United States. In addition to learning English, the program provides opportunities to learn about and experience American culture. ELP curriculum and courses are designed by teaching professionals to draw on students’ current abilities and to promote academic excellence.
Saginaw Valley State is located with the Great Lakes Bay region of Michigan surrounded by a majority of cities that comprise the region including Bay City, Midland and Saginaw.
