The UCL Centre for Languages and International Education (CLIE) offers a range of degree preparation and foundation courses for international students, as well as a diverse portfolio of summer schools. It provides courses in nine modern foreign languages and academic English across a range of levels as credit-bearing modules for UCL degree students. Evening language courses are also available to UCL students, UCL staff and London’s wider academic and professional community.
First opened in 1991 as the UCL Language Centre, delivering English for Academic Purposes (EAP), credit-bearing Modern Foreign Language (MFL) modules and evening language courses. The name was formally changed in 2009 to reflect Its wider teaching remit and role of enabling international students to access UCL degree programmes.
UCL Centre for Languages and International Education is located at 26 Bedford Way, London with distinct UCL teaching departments with experience and expertise in delivering first-class degree preparation courses, foreign language courses and summer School programmes.
