Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Finance

In the Business Administration Finance major you will study the ways money, markets, and people come together to create value. Youll learn how banks, securities markets, and other financial institutions operate. Youll study the influences of the national and international monetary pictures on financial management. Youll learn how to make financing and organizational restructuring decisions in business firms. Finance is the study of how individuals and and organizations manage and use money. In this major you will learn about different types of financial institutions and how they operate and will explore concepts in finance policy and investing. You will graduate prepared for a range of careers in banking, corporate finance, real estate finance, personal financial planning, and more.

The Option in Finance provides students with the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to make informed financial decisions for themselves and their organizations. Business students interested in numbers, quantitative analysis, problem solving, utilizing creativity, and practical applications will appreciate this option. Opportunities exist in a variety of fields, including commercial and investment banking, insurance, corporate finance, money management, venture capital, risk management, and real estate.

The job outlook for finance students is strong, and starting and mid-career salaries are typically among the highest of all majors at a university. Many premier jobs in business, such as hedge fund manager, investment banker, and CFO, are in finance.
