To be eligible for admission to a master's program, applicants must hold, at a minimum, an Honours undergraduate degree or equivalent (typically a four-year full-time program) from a recognized post-secondary institution with at least a B (second class) standing in the final two years of full-time equivalent study.
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least a B or equivalent, is required. Most programs require at least a B plus or equivalent. Your GPA is assessed over the last two years of undergraduate study (full time, or equivalent), or, if you have a master's degree, we will use your highest level of education to calculate your GPA.
An undergraduate degree in any area of biology, biological science, biochemistry, chemistry, life sciences or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution with a B plus average in the last two years (or equivalent) of academic work. Undergraduate degrees must include at least one course in statistics at the second-year level or above, as well as three courses in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics or equivalent at the second-year level or above.
