Co-operative or co-op programs provide you with the opportunity to work in a sector related to your field of education while studying in Canada. These are the programs that are observed to be very beneficial in terms of gaining real work experience while receiving education, seeing the reflection of the technical knowledge obtained during the education in real life and moving to the career steps early. Many co-op programs continue by dividing into two as one semester education and one semester.
Co-op programs are not like internship programs. While there is a link between the employer and the employee in internships, co-op programs have a link between the university, the employer and the student. Internship programs are mostly free of charge, but you can get certain fees in co-op programs.
You will also have a co-op instructor who will make it easier for you to enter the business life in co-op programs that give you the opportunity to explore career opportunities, have work experience in the relevant field and earn money. Most university students do not have the opportunity to prepare themselves for business life while studying in the academic field.
If you want to participate in these education programs in Canada, you must also have a work permit. After you apply for an education program, you can get permission for a co-op / internship program. Co-op programs should cover half working and half education life. Working should also be part of your academic program.
In the programs, the institutions you receive education from help you with the current options of the institutions that will provide employment for you. However, if there are institutions where you want to work, the institution where you are studying needs to determine whether the job you applied for is related to the field of education you received. Your performance in the institutions where you work with the co-op program is evaluated by the institutions, but the program itself does not give you a job guarantee.
