The IELTS on computer test is now being offered in Malaysia. Currently, the test is held at Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Kepong, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Penang (island & mainland), Ipoh, Kuching, Tawau, Bintulu and Kota Kinabalu. The IELTS on Computer will be held on selected days and registration will close four days before the test date, subject to the availability of places.

If you choose the new option, you will take the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections using a computer. The Speaking test will either be conducted face-to-face or in a video call, which we identify as the VCS- IELTS Video Call Speaking test. For the VCS method, the examiner will not be present at the test centre and will be examining your Speaking through a video call. The test takers are still required to be present at the test centre. All other aspects of the test are identical, whether it is taken on paper or on the computer. Results for the IELTS on computer test will be available 3 - 5 days after you finish all sections of your test. Still the same IELTS test:

Regardless of whether you choose to take the IELTS test on computer or paper, you will receive the same test report form. You will receive your results within 2 days when you sit for an IELTS on computer test.

1. When will the results be available for IELTS on Computer?
The results for IELTS on computer will be available 3–5 days after your test.
2. Will there be a physical interview for the speaking test?
At IDP, we offer 2 options for test takers to do their Speaking test. First, it’s the physical session with the examiner which will take place at our test centre. Secondly, the Speaking test which will be conducted in a video call, which we identify as VCS- IELTS Video Call Speaking test. For this method, the examiner will not be present at the test centre and will be examining your Speaking through a video call. The test takers are still required to be present at the test centres.
3. Can I do the IELTS on Computer exam remotely at home?
IELTS on Computer is conducted at our designated test centre hence test takers are not allowed to do the IELTS on Computer exam remotely at home.
