IDP IELTS Nepal provides a variety of testing options, with availability up to 7 days a week and two sessions per day for the computer-delivered IELTS, and 48 annual opportunities, equating to four times a month, for the paper-based IELTS test.
Which IELTS is best for you - paper-based or computer-delivered?
Prior to signing up for your IELTS test, determining which test format suits you best is crucial. Do you thrive using technology, or are you more at ease with traditional paper and pen?
IELTS online or offline test registration
You have the option to register for your IELTS test either online or by visiting your closest IDP branch for offline booking. Follow these steps to proceed:
Log on to https://ielts.idp.com/nepal
Select the option ‘Register for Test’
Pick your desired test location/city (available IELTS test centres in Nepal are mentioned)
Book your preferred test and date
(be extremely careful while choosing the module you wish to take)
Fill up the required details and complete the online application
Proceed to pay the test fee
Once your test date is booked, you will receive an acknowledgement on your registered email.
For the Speaking section of the paper-based IELTS test, you have the option to select your preferred date and time online. However, if you don't pick a slot within the specified timeframe, one will be automatically assigned to you.
To book the computer-delivered IELTS, you can use the same booking process. Simply search for the icon next to the date to reserve your IELTS. It's important to note that this method doesn't provide the option to book a specific time slot for the Speaking test online.
To complete your payment online, you will require a credit/debit card. Alternatively, you can pay in cash at the bank or use a card at the IDP Nepal office. Find detailed info on payment here.
You will also have to upload a clear, scanned colour copy of your passport to complete the process.
You will receive a final confirmation email detailing your IELTS test date, time, and location five to seven days prior to the test. If you book the test within five days of the test date, this confirmation will be sent to you at the earliest possible time. Please make sure your email settings permit emails from IDP and regularly check your spam/junk folder if you don't see the email in your inbox.
