Wherever in the world you choose to pursue your career, a degree from a university in the UK is internationally respected and considered as a mark of quality education.
This impression is backed up by numbers, with the UK producing 14% of the world’s most cited academic papers and 5% of the world’s scientific research.
These figures are all the more impressive considering the countries that comprise the UK are home to just 1% of the world’s population. The UK’s universities have a reputation for fostering genius across a multiplicity of disciplines, with luminaries such as Ernest Rutherford (the father of nuclear physics) to Oscar Wilde (acclaimed Irish writer and playwright) graduating from notable UK tertiary institutions.
Colleges and universities in the UK offer two major intakes, but few of the universities also offer summer intakes. The three intakes available in the UK are:
Intakes | Duration |
Autumn/Fall intake | September to December |
Spring intake | January to April |
Summer intake | April to June |
It can get a bit confusing to choose the intake that’s best for you. Consider factors like the availability of your preferred program, your academic records, entrance test scores, acceptance rates, job opportunities and your readiness to join the program whilst making a decision.
All UG courses applications are regulated by UCAS (UK-based Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).
