IDP Philippines successfully conducted its very first Study Abroad Caravan in Palawan, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to connect aspiring students with premier international educational opportunities. Held in Hue Hotels & Resorts in the heart of Puerto Princesa City, the event welcomed a total of 139 students eager to explore possibilities for pursuing education abroad.
This landmark event was designed to provide Palawan-based students with comprehensive guidance and direct access to international education experts. By bringing top-tier educational services to the province, IDP Philippines underscored its commitment to making international study opportunities more accessible to Filipinos of all ages, regardless of their location.
Attendees of the January 25 event were immersed in a series of informative sessions and meaningful interactions with school representatives from Australia and Canada. One of the caravan's highlights was the on-the-spot counseling sessions, where students had the chance to receive personalized advice on selecting the right courses, understanding application requirements, and navigating the complexities of studying abroad.
The event also featured direct interactions with representatives from leading schools abroad, allowing students to gain firsthand information regarding various academic programs, tuition structures, scholarship options, and campus life experiences. Such interactions play a crucial role in helping students make better decisions about their upcoming global education journey.
Prior to the counseling sessions and meetups with the school reps, attendees were able to attend IDP's study abroad seminar, which is designed to equip students with essential knowledge about studying overseas. Topics covered included the benefits of international education, application procedures, costs of living abroad, and tips for adapting to life in a foreign country. The seminar also dispelled common myths surrounding studying abroad, such as concerns about affordability and cultural adjustment.
This Study Abroad Caravan marked the first time that IDP Philippines brought its services to the province. This pioneering effort reflects IDP’s dedication to expanding its reach and ensuring that students from all parts of the country have access to world-class educational opportunities. The success of the event demonstrated the strong demand for international education guidance in the region and highlighted the potential for future initiatives.
After this caravan, IDP is set to launch the country's biggest international fair so far. Study, Explore, Soar: International Education Fair 2025 is a five-leg event to be held in February. The team will visit key cities in the country, particularly Dumaguete (February 7), Cebu City (February 8), Metro Manila (February 9), Lipa City (February 18), and Legazpi City (February 22). About 80 schools are coming, along with other IDP partners, giving more options to students attending the fair.
