Eligibility
In order to qualify for an award in 2025, you must:
- be on a full-time Undergraduate course
- be eligible for UK student funding support for maintenance and have an assessed household income of below £35,000 (as defined in the Student Support funding regulations)
- be liable to pay tuition fees of £9,250 (including tuition fee remission grant, if applicable).
Award value
In 2025/26, the Cardiff University Bursary is a cash payment of £500. A further £500 per year of study is available where a student continues to meet the eligibility criteria. The bursary is available on top of government-funded maintenance grants and loans.
You don't need to apply for the Cardiff University Bursary. Your eligibility will be determined using the information provided to Student Finance during your application for funding. Please make sure that you do not tick the box on the assessment form to withhold your consent to share this information with us. If you do this, you will not be able to be considered for the Cardiff University Bursary.
Confirmation of your eligibility for the bursary will be sent before the end of the first semester.
