Selection criteria:
To be eligible for this award, you must be:
- domiciled at the time of application in Sub-Saharan Africa, excluding Nigeria and Ghana. If you are applying from Nigeria or Ghana please refer to our West Africa Scholarship.
- self-funding your course
- meet the entry criteria for a bachelors or 1 year taught masters course in January 2025.
Two year Masters courses and MRes programmes are not eligible for this scholarship. In addition, you are not eligible if you have discounted tuition fees from a partner university or are in receipt of another scholarship.
Please note that scholarships are only eligible for the intake of your initial application. Awarded scholarships are non-transferable and cannot be deferred to a later start date. Deferred applications are not eligible for the scholarship whether you paid your deposit before deferral or after.
Scholarships are awarded automatically once you have paid your £5500 deposit payment towards your tuition fees. The number of scholarships is limited and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
