Selection criteria:
In making the recommendations, the selection committee gives equal consideration to: a. strategic objectives of the University and b. academic achievement. Preference is given to those working towards their first master's degree.
If, in any year, there are fewer candidates of sufficient merit than there are scholarships available, fewer are offered.
The scholarship is tenable during enrolment in a course with a credit weighting in the range 90–120 points for a project comprising a single thesis, dissertation, research project, creative work, or performance towards a research master's degree at the University.
An applicant must: a. have enrolled in such a course no more than six months before the closing date for the application round in which they are participating or b. be intending to enrol in such a course no more than six months after the closing date for the application round in which they are participating.
Current and previous recipients of the scholarship are not eligible for a new tenure
Tenure: The scholarship is tenable for the period necessary to complete up to 120 points of enrolment in a qualifying project.
Applicable enrolment during tenure: The scholarship is tenable during full-time or part-time enrolment in a course with a credit weighting in the range 90–120 points for a project comprising a single thesis, dissertation, research project, creative work, or performance towards a research master's degree at the University.
The scholarship is awarded in two rounds each year. Applications must be made online at the Scholarships website by 15 May or by 15 October.
