UC Mathematics and Statistics Scholarship

In making its recommendations, the selection committee considers, in descending order of priority: a. academic achievement and b. demonstrated commitment to, and interest in, Mathematics and/or Statistics. There are three categories of scholarship (see clause 7.1). The value of each category reflects the recipients' levels of achievement in terms of the above criteria.

If, in any year, there are fewer candidates of sufficient merit than there are scholarships available, fewer awards are made.

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise and support high-achieving 200-, 300-, or 400-level students majoring in Applied Data Science, Computational and Applied Mathematical Sciences, Data Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics , or Statistics at the University of Canterbury.

Tenure: One year

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable during full-time at the University of Canterbury in at least 60 points of 200-, 300-, or 400-level taught courses (not including any thesis course) for an undergraduate or postgraduate programme in Applied Data Science, Computational and Applied Mathematical Sciences, Data Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
