Selection criteria:
The School is delighted to offer two scholarships to UK applicants accepted onto the MSc Education (Early Childhood Practice and Froebel) Pathway in the academic session, funded by the UK Froebel Trust. The scholarships are available to UK applicants who have been accepted onto the MSc Education (Early Childhood Practice and Froebel) Pathway. Applicants to the full-time or part-time (two-year and three-year) study modes are eligible.
These scholarships are competitive and will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic and professional merit and economic need as described in the scholarship application personal statement.
Successful candidates will be chosen based on the following criteria:
Academic ability (as evidenced in standard application and references)
Professional experience (as evidenced in standard application and references)
Suitability for the programme applied for in terms of previous study and work experience (standard application)
Commitment to scholarship in the field of Early Childhood Education (as evidenced by the standard application and the statement in the scholarship application form).
Applicants with degrees of lower academic standing (e.g. under 2:1) but with a genuine interest and/or considerable work experience in the area of study are encouraged to apply. In cases where academic merit is equal, consideration of prior experience, demonstrable interest in the area of study and references will be considered.
Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application.
In order to gain access to the scholarship application system, applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Please note that, following the submission of an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
