The University of Glasgow is offering travel bursaries to assist with public transport travel costs, to support undergraduate and postgraduate students are currently asylum seekers and who could face financial difficulties in taking up their place to study at the University for 2025 entry. The value of the bursary is 50% of your monthly public transport travel costs to get to University, up to a maximum value of £50 per month.
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be seeking asylum and have asylum seeker status and be classified as a 'Home' student for fee purposes.
hold the offer of a place to study, full-time, at the University of Glasgow in the forthcoming academic year (September 2025)
be undertaking their first undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Continuing students previously in receipt of the bursary can apply, however, preference will be given to new entrants.
provide evidence that their, or their family's, circumstances are such that they may find it difficult to take up/continue their place at the University for financial reasons. We will normally consider applicants with a household income of up to £26,000 per annum.
