Labid Al-Fakhri Scholarship

In his honour, one generous scholarship worth £20,000 per year will be awarded to a student from the Middle East coming to study one of the following programmes at the Liverpool School of Architecture:

BA Architecture
MArch (Master of Architecture).

Preference will be given to students from Iraq or of Iraqi Heritage as per the Donor's request, but students from the following countries are also invited to apply:

Algeria
Egypt
Jordan
Lebanon
Libya
Morocco
Palestine
Tunisia
Yemen.

The scholarship will be awarded as a fee reduction, spread over the duration of the programme: two years for MArch three years for BA Architecture.

Conditions

Candidates must be from Iraq, of Iraqi heritage, or from one of the other countries specified above, and be able to demonstrate this
The scholarship is available on BA Architecture and MArch Master of Architecture only
Candidates must hold an offer to study on one of the eligible programmes. Candidates are welcome to apply for the scholarship before they have heard the outcome of their application for the academic programme, but only those made an offer of a place to study by the closing date will be considered for the scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded as a discount on the tuition fee at the start of each academic year. The scholarship is conditional on successful academic progress and demonstration of professional behaviour. The panel reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the scholarship if there are any reasons for concern
The scholarship cannot be combined with other University awards
In the event that the value of the scholarship exceeds the total cost of the course, the remaining balance will be used to support the student in covering living costs or any associated course costs, eg materials
