Selection criteria:
PhD students who have completed the Perimeter Scholars International Program (or equivalent).
Consideration will be given to address the historic and present underrepresentation of female students, and other underrepresented groups.
UW PhD students of exceptional merit, who would be competitive for tri-agency awards and who are conducting research in Foundational Theoretical Physics.
This Award is renewable for up to three years, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress as determined by the student's supervisory committee, and detailed in PhD committee progress reports. In certain circumstances, the Scholarship may be awarded for a fourth year, contingent upon the student's degree completion plan and approval by the scholarship committee.
In addition to criteria for academic excellence, applicants will be assessed on their potential for enhancing theoretical physics research excellence in Canada, as defined by
the significance and impact of their research to date
their proposed research plan and its potential for creating a significant contribution to the field
other prescribed merit criteria agreed by PI reviewers.
