full-time graduate students registered in a research-based master's or doctoral program in Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering.
students with demonstrated leadership potential and who are conducting research in the area of steel structures preference will be given to students working on cold-formed steel.
students must have a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent in their last two years of full-time study.
in consultation with faculty members researching in cold-form steel at the University of Waterloo, a selection committee in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering will select recipients normally each Winter.
should an eligible candidate not be found, available funds will be held to be given out in a future year.
this award can be held in conjunction with any other major awards.
this award is in addition to the student's minimum funding guarantee.
Award description:
Scholarships valued at CAN $4,000 each, will be provided annually to eligible graduate students registered full time in a research-based master's or doctoral program in Civil & Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering. Students must have demonstrated leadership potential and be conducting research in the area of steel structures preference will be given to students working on cold-formed steel. Students must have a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent in their last two years of full time study. Interested students should submit an application by February 28 to the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. This fund is made possible by a donation from Steelcon Group of Companies.
