Value description:
The value of the award will be determined by the income generated by the fund each year. The goal is to provide three to five awards valued at a minimum CAN $20,000 each, on an annual basis. The value and/or number of awards may change from year to year.
The first selection will be made in fall 2019. Additional funds available in the Trust Fund may be used to top-up awards to CAN $25,000 each for 10 years starting in 2019.
Eligibility & selection criteria:
Graduate students registered full-time in a master's or doctoral program who are conducting research in the thematic areas broadly defined as Nano-medicine, biotechnology and biomedicine at the University of Waterloo.
A student must be within their program time limits in order to be considered.
Selection to be based on academic achievement (minimum 80% or equivalent cumulative average in their current program) and demonstrated area of research that aligns with the thematic areas of research supported.
Students are not eligible to receive the award more than once during their current program.

Eligible candidates must submit an application (found on the Faculty of Science website), two academic references, a letter describing their research (maximum two pages), a CV and a copy of their most recent unofficial transcript. Application packages should be submitted to the Faculty of Science, Associate Dean, Graduate Studies by September 30.
