IELTS Test Date Transfer

More than 5-weeks before the test date*

Candidate can change their test date for free.

Less than 5-weeks before the test date*

Candidates can change their test date but an admin fee of 25% of the test fee will be charged. *All test date changes will be subjected to approval and candidates are required to provide supporting documents.

Missed IELTS Test Date

Candidates may change their test date only once for free if they are able to provide evidence, within 5 working days, explaining their reason for being unable to sit for the test within 5 working days. All cases will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

For missed tests, transfer request should be done within 5 days from test date. And the new test date should be within 3 months from original test date.

Examples are as follows:

  • Medical Certification

  • Hospitalisation (Personal or family member)

Failure to appear for the test without notification is considered as a cancellation, thus no refund will be issued, and you must register and pay again if you wish to take the test on another date.

IELTS Test Cancellation Policy

More than 5-weeks before the test date

Candidates will receive a refund (less a 25% administrative fee).

Less than 5-weeks before of the test date

Candidates may change their test date for free if they are able to provide evidence, within 5 working days, explaining their inability to sit for the test. Candidates will receive a refund (less a 25% administrative fee). Examples are as follows:

  • Serious Illness - hospital admission or serious injury

  • Loss or Bereavement - death of a close family member

  • Hardship/Trauma - victim of a crime, victim of a traffic accident

  • Military Service

If the refund request has been approved, candidate will be notified via email together with a refund request form that will require the candidate to fill-in with their bank details. Processing of refund will take around three to four weeks.

Please note that requests are subjected for verification prior to approval or rejection.
