The U.S. boasts a wide variety of tourist destinations ranging from the skyscrapers and bright lights of New York City, to the natural wonders of the Grand Canyon and Alaska to the sunny beaches of California, Florida and Hawaii. Whether you like to explore the major cities or hit the road and visit some of nature’s incredible wonders, there are plenty of things to do in the U.S .while you’re studying.

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Yellowstone is the world’s first national park, set aside in 1872 to preserve the vast number of geysers, hot springs and other thermal areas, as well as the wildlife which call the park home. The park lies on top of a gigantic hotspot where light, hot, molten rock rises towards the surface.
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Located in northern Arizona, the Grand Canyon is a major tourist attraction in the U.S. Carved over several million years by the Colorado River, the canyon has a depth of over 1.6 kilometres and is 446 kilometres long.
Niagara Falls, New York
Situated between New York and the province of Ontario in Canada, Niagara Falls is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. Comprising three falls – the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshow Falls, Niagara Falls receives more than 14 million visitors each year.
New York City, New York

Washington Monument, Washington, D.C
Standing tall at 169 metres, the Washington Monument is an obelisk made of white marble, granite and blue gneiss which commemorates the first president of the U.S., George Washington.
Florida Keys, Florida
Located off the southern coast of Florida, the Florida Keys is a coral cay archipelago which forms the southernmost portion of the U.S. Just offshore from the Keys is the Florida Reef, the third largest barrier reef system in the world.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii
Located on the southeast coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, the park boasts two active volcanoes as well as steam vents, craters, calderas and lava tubes. The park’s volcanoes, Manua Loa - the world’s largest volcano - and Kilauea are among the most active volcanos in the world. If you drive through the park at night, you will be able to see the red-orange globes of hot lava oozing out of the earth.
