From the shopping precinct to the famous dining halls
Home to many of the world’s most famous brands and fashion houses, shopping in the U.S. is often a major part of a visitor’s experience.
With famed shopping precincts, indoor and outdoor shopping malls, luxury boutiques and large-scale department stores, you’ll have plenty of options to explore. Most stores are open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 8:00pm, and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.
If you’re looking to eat out, you’ll find endless options no matter what cuisine you’re after and what your budget may be. If you prefer to cook at home, there are many supermarkets and fresh produce stores located in your local town or city.
While tipping your waiter or waitress is not mandatory in most of the U.S., it is considered a custom in many circumstances, especially at sit-down restaurants which offer table service. As a general rule, the average tip is 15 to 20 per cent of the total meal cost.
