International students from over 60 countries around the world have chosen to study at the university, which is a member of The Claremont Colleges, a group of seven world-class institutions modeled after Cambridge and Oxford, located in Southern California. The university strongly believes in creating a diverse learning environment and the student-to-faculty ratio of 9:1 in the classroom helps students establish close connections with faculty members and their peers.
CGU students receive practice-based learning from experts in various fields. Industry-specific courses taught in classrooms help students to quickly adapt to global workplace surroundings, becoming independent and job ready individuals.
The university offers a variety of specialized programs, which are highly accredited and recognized globally. Its English, political science, fine arts, history, psychology, math, and economics programs are ranked highly by U.S. News & World Report.

The International Scholars Program (ISP) is specially designed for non-native English-speaking international students who are ready for graduate study. It will prepare students for the rigors of graduate study through an integrated cluster of classes that will refine their language, research, and participation skills. ISP is not a typical "language program"; it is designed to help students succeed in graduate-level courses by teaching them about the practices and expectations of American academic and business culture.
Depending upon their level of English proficiency, students will enter at either module 1 or module 2. When they achieve a grade of B or better in all the courses in their module, students will proceed to the next module. Upon successful completion of the International Scholars Program, students will proceed to their graduate program of study and receive a certificate.
Students must first be admitted to a CGU academic program to be eligible for the International Scholars Program.
