Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering

Control energy with a flip of a switch. Design next-generation microchips or flight control systems. Electrical engineers build electrical and electronic devices and systems that we depend on every day whether they are very small (like the microchips in our cell phones) or very large (like the power grids or charging stations for electric cars).

Our state-of-the-art labs for digital electronics, electric power systems, microfabrication, circuits and digital communications will give you experience with the tools youll use in the field. Through labs, lectures and projects, youll also: Design circuits and electronics systems. Study, design and fabricate micro devices. Design communications systems (protocols, antennas, channel modulation, networks). Design power electronics for renewable energy and electric transportation. Learn signal processing techniques for analysis of bio medical signals. Design control systems for airplanes and other vehicles. Work in a Co-op program and get real-world experience in the microelectronics, telecommunications and power industries

All of our Engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board and youll graduate eligible to become a registered professional engineer. All students accepted in the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program who are not enrolled in the Co-op program must complete one 12-17-week internship to graduate.

Applicants from countries and education systems are generally admissible if they meet the academic and English-language proficiency requirements for admission to Concordia University, provided they achieve above-average grades overall and in pre-university mathematics courses in their home country. This would translate roughly to a 3.00 CGPA (on a 4.30 scale) or the equivalent of a "B" grade at Concordia University. In most cases, final grade 11 and mid-term grade 12 results are used to calculate admissions averages. A test of English proficiency may also be required.

English Language Requirements

TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language: TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special home edition: Score between 63 and 74, with no more than two parts under 15.

IELTS – International English Language Testing System: IELTS score of 5.5 or 5 and in both cases, only two bands as low as 4.5.

DET – Duolingo English Test: DET score between 90 and 104.

CAEL – Canadian Academic English Language Assessment: CAEL minimum overall score of 40 with no part under 30

PTE Academic – Pearson English Language Test: Overall score of 45 to 49 with only two parts as low as 43.

The application deadlines are Feb/01 for Fall term, Sep/01 for Winter term.
