Established in 1967, Fleming College offers a truly Canadian experience, both in and out of the classroom. Campuses are located in the historic cities of Peterborough, Lindsay and Haliburton, which are popular Ontario tourist destinations. Students will have all the advantages of urban living with nature right at their doorstep and can enjoy the great lakes and vast natural landscapes of forests and plains that the province has to offer.
It is one of Ontario's earliest applied arts and technology institutions, named after Sir Sandford Fleming, a Scottish-born engineer and inventor who designed Canada's first transcontinental railway and invented Universal Standard Time, the system still used to tell the time around the world today.
The college offers a comprehensive portfolio of vocational training programs, from apprenticeships to postgraduate programs. Courses range from accounting, aquaculture and wireless information networking through to urban forestry, visual art and welding, and more.
Class sizes are small and designed to make learning personal. Students have the opportunity to form strong bonds with faculty and benefit from mentoring that can extend beyond academics. Students will get to know their instructors and classmates, creating connections that will last a lifetime.
The college's programs are designed to meet the needs of employers. Both theory and practical learning components are continuously updated to address emerging trends and changes in the industry. Students can practice what they learn in a number of different ways, including labs, field camps, simulations, work or co-op placements, or applied or community projects.
In fact, 95.7 per cent of employers were satisfied or very satisfied with the college's graduates' preparation for the workplace (Key Performance Indicator Survey), proving that Fleming is a great choice for international education.
Following in the footsteps of its illustrious namesake, Fleming College champions a culture of innovation and applied academics which sets it apart from other technical institutions.
The college employs a superb team of academic staff, who are highly qualified and widely experienced in their subject areas. Many have held high-ranking business and industrial sector roles, and are able to deliver both academic and professional insights utilizing a variety of teaching methods and communication principles.

Students can explore careers in law, security and protection taught by an award-winning faculty with an option to switch programs in Semester 2.
The Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre was designed with industry partners and has state-of-the art shop facilities, smart classrooms, high-tech labs, and modular and integrated learning spaces.
This school includes the English as a Second Language Bridge program and offers pathway programs to the arts or sciences stream.
With a focus on the environment, students don't spend much time in a lecture hall. Field trips, field schools and applied projects challenge students to put their skills into practice.
The faculty in this school have shaped art, design, craft, and heritage studies across Canada. Programs include the Integrated Design diploma and the Visual and the Creative Arts diploma.
The intensive postgraduate heritage programs are taught in Peterborough, at the Sutherland Campus and in a museum. They prepare students for careers preserving museum materials or curating and managing museum exhibitions.
The college offers a wide selection of different types of courses, aimed at students of different levels of education and training. Entry requirements are based on specific course expectations and learning outcomes and can be viewed online on Fleming College's website.
There are also links to the college's admissions department, who can be contacted at any time regarding the application process.
