Graduate Pathway in Creative Technologies

An INTO Illinois State University Graduate Pathway in Creative Technologies will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master's degree program at Illinois State University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next semester of study at Illinois State University. This transition from an INTO program to a university degree program is called progression. Develop your knowledge and skills through active learning in your chosen subject area. Guaranteed university placement for all successful students. Adapt to studying in the US with a strong focus on study and research skills. Improve your English level and develop the vocabulary for your chosen degree subject. Students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills through internships after completing course work.

1-Semester Pathway

English language requirements: TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5, PTEA 53, Password 7, Duolingo 105, or TOEFL Essentials 8.5.

Academic requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2.5 GPA out of 4.0. Letter of application stating your interest and emphasis. Writing sample: poetry, short story, script, or essay. A portfolio consisting of 6-10 pieces of work. The work must be viewable on Mac or PC. The portfolio must include some of the following, depending on your interest and experience: images of your artwork, website design, musical composition, musical performance, theatre resume, sketches of theatre design work, digital audio, or multimedia work.

2-Semester Pathway

English language requirements: TOEFL 65, IELTS 5.5, PTEA 44, Password 6, Completion of Academic English Level 4, Duolingo 95, or TOEFL Essentials 7.

Academic requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2.5 GPA out of 4.0. Letter of application stating your interest and emphasis. Writing sample: poetry, short story, script, or essay. A portfolio consisting of 6-10 pieces of work. The work must be viewable on Mac or PC. The portfolio must include some of the following, depending on your interest and experience: images of your artwork, website design, musical composition, musical performance, theatre resume, sketches of theatre design work, digital audio, or multimedia work.
