BA (Hons) Fashion Design

These undergraduate programmes are designed for participants looking to enter the fashion world, and provide a complete education allowing participants to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the chosen field.
Today's fashion designers are catalysts of creativity, forming new trends, responding to consumer demands, industry developments and new technology, from initial design right through to the finished garment. Nurturing original style, this full time course trains highly skilled designers for the engaging fashion industry. Participants learn how to create collections from an accurate analysis of the market, the trends, materials and fabrics, as well as translating ideas and inspiration derived from any form, concept, or art, or simply from their own experiences, successfully combining a personal vision with industry needs, or brand design strategies.
The BA (Hons) Fashion Design Course provides you with the skills and knowledge in design, pattern, and garment technology, responding to the changing needs of the industry.
You will be equipped in dealing with existing and emerging technologies in today's apparel industry and have strong fundamentals of core skills in design, realisation, and fashion theory. Through a variety of project briefs, you will be able to question, test and redefine your approaches across research, analysis, experimentation, and development.

Career support:
The purpose of the Istituto Marangoni Career service is to bridge the gap between course completion and entering the world of work. Monitoring, guidance, and counselling activities are organised throughout the academic year. The careers service organises various activities including seminars and round table discussions with fashion professionals, HR managers and head-hunter agencies on specific topics such as future career paths, personal research methods and job profiles. Individual meetings are also arranged to assist with CV preparation, revise portfolios and encourage students to talk about their career goals and expectations.

- GCE with two A level at grade BB
- BTEC National Extended Diploma with MMP
- Foundation Diploma with Pass
- Access to Higher Education Diploma with Pass Overal
- International Baccalaureate with 26 IB total points
- Scottish Qualification with three Higher at grade B
- Irish Leaving Certificate with four Higher at grade 4
- American High School Diploma with GPA 2.5 plus
SAT score of 1200 in total or
ACT score of 25 or
Two AP at grade 4 or
Completed 1st year of University/Junior College
I/GCSE with 4/C in English or equivalent. Applicants are required to provide proof of
their English language ability. The English test score should be at least B2 on the CEFR
level (e.g. IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, no less than 5.5 for each element)
The normal minimum age for entry shall be 18 years.
