As Australia’s health sector continues to grow, there’s growing demand for nutrition professionals who understand the foundations and underlying science of nutrition, and the links to illnesses related to aging and modern lifestyle choices.If you're passionate about the power of food and nutrition, La Trobe's Bachelor of Nutrition Science gives you the foundations to pursue your dream career supporting the health of individuals and communities.Carefully designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of food and nutrition science, you'll explore biosciences and the relationship between food, disease and society, as well as the importance of nutritional requirements.You'll get hands-on experience in commercial kitchens and modern science labs, and you'll have the opportunity to explore an area you're passionate about, including sports nutrition, food science and gastronomy, and nutrigenomics.

Apply well developed literacy and communication skills across a variety of settings, including demonstration of digital literacy, to effectively communicate knowledge, skills and ideas to others.Critically analyse research evidence to enable knowledge translation for ethically informed and evidence-based nutrition practice incorporating health data, nutrition epidemiology methods and biostatistics.Critically analyse problems and provide innovative professional solutions that consider the sociocultural factors that influence food intake and impact food security in changing food, nutrition and health environments
After graduation, you could work across a wide variety of sectors including population or public health, government bodies, community health, food industry (including food development, technology and analysis), research and media.

TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall score of 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing

This course does not have an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and therefore no international entry requirements.
