PhD Novel High-Performance Coatings - Product and Process Development

Coatings are used for a wide range of applications with formulations developed or adapted according to the needs specific to the surfaces they are used on- smoothness, brightness, scratch resistance are among these. Challenges of global dimension experienced in the recent years have accentuated the need to develop new formulation coatings with antimicrobial properties that can be used areas of dense populations, such as hospitals, schools, in public transport to inhibit or minimise the risks of spreading diseases in the community.

Applicants are expected to have a background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related Engineering discipline with at least a 2:1 or equivalent

IELTS - 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each individual element (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
TOEFL - iBT - Overall score of 92, with not less than 22 in each test.
