Master of Social Work / Juris Doctor

Offered jointly with the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, this dual degree gives clinical skills and a broader understanding of the human concerns in legal interventions to practicing lawyers. To be eligible for admission, your transcript must show you earned a bachelor's degree or a bachelor's degree is in progress. The complete contact information of two recommenders is required to apply to the Social Work Master's program. This information can be included in your online application.

For the TOEFL, a minimum score of 79 on the iBT or a 550 on the written test is required.

For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.0 is required.
An applicant for admission must ordinarily hold (or receive prior to matriculation) a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. In addition, because academic qualifications are of major importance, the applicant ordinarily must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If you have non-U.S. educational credentials, you are required to submit your official education credentials (e.g., transcripts, mark sheets, degree certificates, graduation diplomas) and evaluation fee directly to any NACES member companies.

If you attended Loyola University Chicago previously, you do not need to request transcripts, we have them on record. Copies of transcripts or transcripts not received in a sealed envelope from the university are considered unofficial. If you attended Loyola University Chicago previously, you do not need to request transcripts. We strongly encourage electronic submission of documents. Official transcripts should show a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In exceptional cases, applicants whose undergraduate GPA is below 3.0 may be admitted.
