Ontario College Certificate in Firefighter, Pre-Service Education and Training

This 12-month certificate program offers comprehensive training that meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) qualifications. You will train at several fire training facilities, as well as on campus, to master firefighting skills through hands-on experience. This program offers theoretical knowledge and practical experiences that will prepare you for the highly competitive field of firefighting. You’ll be required to pass a Physical and Endurance Test during the first semester of the program.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant

Grade 12 English (C or U)
Grade 12 Mathematics (c or U) or Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U) or equivalent
Two additional grade 11 or 12 (C, M or U) courses, excluding co-op

When applying to a Seneca certificate program you must submit-
High school transcripts for grades 10, 11 and 12 showing all program specific pre-requisite courses.
High school/secondary school diploma (certificate of completion).
You may submit transcripts or certificates for any completed university/postsecondary college courses or programs taken inside or outside of Canada.
Academic records that are in a language other than English must include an official/certified English translation.
IELTS Academic - Minimum 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 .
TOEFL (Internet-Based) - Minimum 80 with no skill below 20.
