Entry requirements for Texas Tech University
Applicants will be evaluated according to standardized GRE scores, graduate GPA, an interview, curriculum vita, personal statement, and three letters of reference.
Minimum preferred qualifications include (Note: satisfaction of minimum requirements does not guarantee admission):
A master's degree or higher in a related field such as psychology, neuroscience, sociology, human development, social work, public health, public administration, counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited institution.
GPA of 3.2 or higher in previous graduate coursework.
GRE scores of 150 Verbal, 150 Quantitative, and 4 Analytical Writing preferred.
Personal interview demonstrating professionalism, strong interpersonal communication skills, and desire to conduct research in the field of addiction recovery.
Curriculum vitae with evidence of academic achievements and relevant experience.
Three affirmative letters of recommendation, ideally from faculty mentors who attest to the applicant's potential for success in a doctoral program.
A one-page personal statement describing academic preparation, professional goals, and a summary of relevant research, teaching, and work experience.
TOEFL - The minimum TOEFL score required is 550 (paper-based version) or 79 (internet-based version).
IELTS - The minimum IELTS required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version
