Bachelor of Music (Advanced) (Music Education)

The Bachelor of Music Advanced (Music Education) is a distinctive degree for students who want to dive deeper into the possibilities with their music teaching. Music is an essential facet of human experience and expression. As a teacher or mentor, you can achieve anything, from empowering emerging musicians to pursue a career on an international scale, to helping a child find their voice.

Our advanced degree offers exclusive courses specifically designed for high-achieving students. You’ll find yourself learning alongside students as passionate about music education as you are. Everything you learn will culminate in a special major project, which can be further developed for postgraduate study. You will:

develop skills in your creative areas of interest
learn coaching strategies for vocalists and musicians
discover the latest theories and methods of practice in music education
prepare lesson plans for a variety of students’ learning styles and goals
actively engage in practice of both teaching and personal musicianship to impassion your students.
Note: You must maintain a GPA of 5.0 or you’ll be required to transfer to the Bachelor of Music (Music Education).

Successful completion of an Australian year 12 qualification with a minimum pass in an accepted English language subject.

IELTS: Overall 6.5 (Reading 6, Listening 6, Speaking 6, Writing 6); TOEFL: Internet-based: Total score of 79 with a minimum of 21 in Writing, 18 in Speaking and 13 in Reading and Listening; TOEFL Paper-based: Total score of 577 with a minimum of 4.5 in the Test of Written English (TWE); Pearsons: Overall 58 (Reading 50, Listening 50, Speaking 50, Writing 50); Cambridge: Overall 176 (Reading 169, Listening 169, Speaking 169, Writing 169).
