Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) / Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Conjoint - Chemistry

We have designed the Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) with budding scientists in mind. It’s for students who want to pursue postgraduate research. By taking a conjoint with the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) you can combine your scientific specialisation with environmental, human rights, medico-legal, and many other aspects of law. Scientists are addressing the challenges confronting society in the 21st century. And today’s lawmakers are underpinning these discoveries with legislation on climate change, genetics, biotechnology and much more. This creates increasing demand for legal professionals with expertise in science – and for scientists who have the confidence to navigate the complex legal processes associated with their research. BAdvSci(Hons)LLB(Hons) conjoint graduates are well positioned for a wide range of careers in science and law. In addition to the transferable skills and knowledge gained from the LLB programme, honours graduates will have demonstrated advanced research and writing skills, increasing their suitability for a range of research and policy jobs. A BAdvSci(Hons)LLB(Hons) conjoint can lead to a career in environmental law, intellectual property law, medico-legal law, or science. This could include the fields of biotechnology, information technology or forensic science. To be admitted as a barrister and solicitor, graduates need to complete a three-month Professional Legal Studies course following their LLB or LLB(Hons).

Entry is by invitation for high-achieving Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) / Bachelor of Laws (BASH/LLB) Part ll students.
To be considered for the Honours programme in Law, you must achieve a B+ average or higher across all your law courses at the completion of LLB Part II during your BASH/LLB. (This is usually at the end of your third year.)
IELTS (Academic) - Overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0
Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) - Overall score of 90 and a written score of 21
Paper-based TOEFL - Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21
