Bachelor of Science and Master of Nursing - Mathematics

Mathematics is powerful, beautiful and diverse. It is a language, a tool for analysis and prediction, and a way of thinking about the world. At 1000 and 2000 level, this major equips students with the foundational ideas of mathematics: abstract algebra, vector calculus and calculus of several variables, as well as formal proof and analysis. At 3000 level and beyond, you will have a choice from a wide range of electives in both pure and applied areas of mathematics, including number theory, dynamical systems, geometry, topology and mathematical computing. The range of units available has been designed to cater for you - whether you intend to become a professional mathematician or if your main interests lie in other areas.
The Bachelor of Science and Master of Nursing is a combined degree program that will develop your skills in critical thinking, while exploring different branches and interest in science. You will complete degree core and junior elective units and a major from the Science disciplinary pool. Additionally, you will any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course taken from the disciplinary pool or the shared pool.

Your first year will be made up of only science units and you will commence nursing subjects from second year onwards. You must meet a satisfactory academic standard to progress to the Master of Nursing. You will commence units comprising coursework and a substantial amount of practical work, with over 800 hours of clinical placements in the nursing component of your degree.

IB Diploma - 29
IELTS - A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band
TOEFL IBT - A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 24 in Reading and Listening, 27 in Writing and 23 in Speaking
A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
