All international applicants are required to have a recognised English language qualification such as IELTS or equivalent. A higher level of English is required for some courses. There are several pathways through which students can gain acceptance to study at UWA. Some students are unable to enter the university directly after completing high school in their home countries. These students are encouraged to take a pre-university course known as a foundation programme.
Students who wish to gain entry to an undergraduate degree course must demonstrate academic performance through school-leaving qualifications or previous study. The university accepts overseas qualifications in applications for study.
Applicants for postgraduate courses are expected to have completed an undergraduate degree at an approved university. Applicants for MPhil or doctoral programmes must demonstrate sufficient experience in research.
