Master of Translation Studies - French

The Master of Translation Studies (12520) offers world-class specialized translation training at the largest language hub in Western Australia. Over the course of one-and-a-half to two years, students complete training in translation between English and one of ten Asian or European languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. This is the only program of its kind in Western Australia, focusing primarily on written translation, with some exposure to interpreting (spoken translation).Accredited by the National Accreditation Authority of Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), the program is taught by experienced practitioners and translation researchers. Students are equipped with critical thinking, linguistic, and analytical skills through advanced translation theories, cutting-edge technologies, and the opportunity for individualized supervision of a translation research project. The program offers two pathways: coursework-only or coursework and dissertation, allowing students the flexibility to pursue a PhD in Translation Studies if desired.With small class sizes, the program ensures personalized guidance throughout each student's learning journey.
