TMUIC International Year One, UTP Stage II Program offers TMU 10 credit-bearing equivalent courses () to help students thrive in their studies and life in Canada. Upon successful completion of International Year One courses and obtaining the required GPA, students are guaranteed progression TMU undergraduate studies with 10 credits
There are six programs at TMUIC:
Arts (BA)
TMU inspires students and researchers to address the hard questions facing society, guided by a deep commitment to equity and Indigenous education.
Business Management (BComm)
Students live and learn in the heart of Canada's business district while selecting a specific major to pursue the specialisation that best aligns with their interests.
Creative Industries (BA)
The program prepares students for management, leadership and entrepreneurship roles in the creative industries, learning how to develop and market creative ideas, understand distribution and legal agreements, technology, design thinking and more.
Engineering (BEng)
Students have the opportunity to make a significant positive impact in the world, from discovering green sources of energy, to finding new ways to combat disease, to developing more sustainable building systems and materials.
Economics and Finance (BA)
Explore the interconnectedness of worldwide markets and acquire and cultivate the economic skills necessary to make strategic decisions from an informed global perspective.
Science (BSc)
A science degree opens up a wide landscape of possibilities, combining theoretical and practical work to broaden the horizon of scientific progress and understand more about the world.
Entry to International Year One usually requires successful completion of secondary school Year 12, or equivalent. Individual programs may have different entry requirements.
As instruction at the college is in English, students need to demonstrate a good level of English language proficiency. This can be done through results from an official English language test.
There are two levels of entry to TMUIC programs: direct or integrated entry.
Direct entry
Students who meet the direct entry English language requirement and meet the relevant academic requirements for their country, will be eligible for direct entry to International Year One. Direct entry includes a non-credit support course called Introduction to the TMUIC Learning Community (ILC101). This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
Integrated Entry
Students who meet the integrated entry English language requirement and the relevant academic requirements for their country, will begin International Year One and will take ILC101, two academic courses and two required integrated tutorials to support academic courses in their first term of study. This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
Students with the following proficiency test results (or higher), are exempt from the Introduction to the TMUIC Learning Community course (ILC 101). This list of test results is not exhaustive.

Orientation is the beginning of each student's journey at Toronto Metropolitan University International College (TMUIC) - a new study environment, a new country, and a new way of life. It all starts at orientation.
