Doctor of Philosophy in Physics

The School of Physics at UCD is a leading centre for research and teaching in physics, with a strong international reputation. The UCD School of Physics is consistently highly ranked in both national and international tables.

There are about 50 graduate research students in the school, most of whom are pursuing PhD programmes and many of whom are from outside Ireland. The academic staff make up a dynamic, international group researching across a wide range of disciplines within Physics.

To be eligible to enter a research master's degree or PhD programme an applicant must have obtained a minimum of an upper second-class degree or equivalent in a relevant bachelor degree.
IELTS - An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
TOEFL IBT - iBT 90 no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in every other section in the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL
