A student's selection of courses must follow the B.A. Program Regulations (including Distribution Requirements), a pattern of study for either the General or Honours degree (below), and the detailed schedule(s) of studies which follow for any special subject(s) studied. The University of Guelph offers general and honours programs leading to the B.A. degree. The General Program consists of a minimum of 15.00 credits requiring the equivalent of 6 semesters of successful full time study. The Honours Program consists of a minimum of 20.00 credits requiring the equivalent of 8 semesters of successful full time study. A student may register in Summer, Fall and Winter semesters. The normal course load is 2.50 credits per semester for a full time student on regular status. Students may register for 0.50 credit more at their own discretion. Part time study consists of 1.50 credits or fewer per semester.

If you are applying with an IB Diploma from outside of Canada, you should present a minimum score of 28. Many programs will require a higher score for admission consideration. Reported bonus points from TOK and EE will be taken into consideration.
The secondary school graduation certificate which would admit a student to an internationally recognized university in his or her home country is normally acceptable for admission to the University of Guelph.
