International students studying at UM have access to a range of funding programs at the university. These include entrance scholarships and a range of other financial awards including bursaries in the second year of study.

The International Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship is awarded to international students who have achieved a minimum high school grade average of 85 percent or over in select academic courses. Students with averages greater or equal to 85 percent can receive an award of 1,000 CAD, while 90 percent or over may entitle students to a scholarship of 2,000 CAD, and 96 percent or over 3,000 CAD – if students meet the relevant applicability criteria. The university also offers an International Undergraduate Student Scholarship and International Student Bursaries, in addition to entrance awards and graduate awards. The University of Manitoba's 2024-25 Budget Establishes New Learning and Research Initiatives

The University of Manitoba has announced sizeable investments in its learning and research facilities as part of its 2024-25 budget plan. The annual budget will support the university's strategic priorities in a number of innovative ways, with a total investment of 24.2 million CAD being made in resources, programs and infrastructure. New investments include over 5 million CAD in total to financially support students at all levels of study, including international students. An additional 1.1 million CAD will also be invested in ‘creating knowledge that matters', as part of a multi-year program which will support interdisciplinary team research grants and research competitiveness.

The University of Manitoba are ‘beaming with pride' at the number of its alumni competing and coaching at the 2024 Olympics and 2024 Paralympics. The fantastic achievements of its alumni at the Olympics and Paralympics reflect the strength of the university's sports programs.

UM alumni at the 2024 Olympics include swimmer Kelsey Wog, soccer player Desiree Scott, men's golf coach Derek Ingram, and women's soccer sport science lead Chloe Werle.
