Applicants must have completed a baccalaureate in Computer Science or a related discipline before beginning the master’s program by the time they begin their program. Transcripts must show the following coursework, or students must complete the work prior to starting their MS degree: C programming, object oriented programming language (C++ or Java), data structures, assembly language programming, computer architecture, or computer organization, an elementary course in algorithms and analysis, advanced programming with UNIX, two semesters of calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, and an elementary course in probability or statistics.
Grade Point Average
Minimum of 3.25 on 4.0 scale. Students whose overall GPA is 2.75 to 3.24 may be admitted under some circumstances
Entrance examinations
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test is required only to apply for an assistantship.
Proof of English proficiency
Minimum requirements vary by department. It is recommended that students have a 79 TOEFL, 6.5 IELTS, or 53 PTE-A
