UTA is also home to the School of Social Work, one of the most prestigious schools for social work in the U.S. For over 50 years. The School of Social Work has been educating and developing leaders and scholars committed to social justice. Historically, the School of Social Work has provided the most diverse program offerings in the subject area across the whole of Texas.
Prospective students who wish to study at the University of Texas at Arlington must ensure that they meet the minimum entry requirements specified by UTA. For international students who have studied in the U.S high school system, this equates to a SAT score of 980 or an ACT score of 23 for non-engineering undergraduate courses, or a SAT score of 1270 or an ACT score of 28 for engineering undergraduate majors. For transfer students, the minimum required GPA is 2.5.
Students from non-US countries are required to submit their high school transcripts and any other relevant national test examination scores as part of the application process. If international students do not have transcripts for SAT or ACT tests, their applications are considered on a course-by-course basis through an individual review process.
In addition to meeting the university's academic entry requirements, students are required to have a good grasp of the English language for entry onto courses at UTA. All international students from countries where English is not the national language are required to submit a test score which demonstrates their proficiency of the English language. Different tests are acceptable, but as a standard measurement, the IELTS score required is a 6.5.
Students applying for postgraduate courses should understand that competition is high, and that selection will be dependent on the specific requirements for their chosen program of study being met. The total fees for international students at the University of Texas at Arlington are currently 28,500 USD per year for an undergraduate course, or 23,122 USD for a postgraduate program of study. These fees can be mitigated through scholarships, which can partially fund the tuition fees for students who apply and are successful.
Academic scholarships are granted purely on merit and are made available to all first-year undergraduate students or those transferring from another study program. Scholarships are available at the start of the Fall semester and students can apply for all scholarships through the UTA website.

UTA launched an exciting Master of Science in Applied Statistics and Data Science (M.S. in ASDS) program in Fall 2023.
