The University of Western Australia has opened UWA College, a new pathway institution, designed to prepare international students for success at UWA. Students will benefit from a tailored learning experience across a range of Foundation and Diploma programs providing the ideal preparation for UWA degrees. As a UWA College student, they will receive an offer of a place in the UWA course of their choice. All they need to do is achieve the necessary grades and meet any additional selection criteria prescribed by UWA.
The delivery method encourages students to adapt easily to the Australian tertiary academic system. Classes are in small groups, augmented by university-style lectures and individual timetabled tutorials. Students will learn how to study independently, work in groups, become a leader, conduct research and deliver presentations, all necessary skills for success at university.
With students from multiple countries, the program offers a multicultural study environment. Students will enjoy studying and living with friends from around the world and take a wealth of experience and cultural understanding with them to university and beyond.
UWA College is located in a modern, purpose-built student hub in the heart of UWA’s Perth campus. Here students will be introduced to student life at UWA, building their academic and language skills in a supportive and interactive environment. Students will benefit from modern, purpose-built classrooms where they will be taught in university-style seminars and lectures, open study areas where they will learn how to self-study and collaborate and experienced teachers and personal tutors who will help monitor their progression. Located in the center of campus, overlooking the buzzing Oaks Lawn and nearby Guild Village, the social heart of the student community, students will feel part of the university from day one.
