Bachelor of Laws (Honours)

The Bachelor of Laws with Honours is a chance for you to extend your skills and gain an edge in your career opportunities.

The first part of this degree starts with the Bachelor of Laws (LLB). There are only about 35 places for the Honours programme, so competition for selection into this degree is fierce. Selection is based on the results of your best three 200-level Law courses (LAWS 211–214). Your result for LAWS 297 may also be taken into account.

If you’re invited in to the Bachelor of Laws with Honours, you will spend the remainder of your study working closely with tutors and lecturers. You’ll refine your research, writing, and analytical skills in a range of specialist areas.

Achieve the International Baccalaureate Diploma, or three GCE Advanced Level passes at C grade, or equivalent.
Useful secondary school subjects- English, History, Art History, Classics, Geography, Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Music and languages.
Successful completion of your general secondary education and successful completion of one year of undergraduate degree study at a recognised tertiary institution (min. GPA may be required)
Successful completion of the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation Studies Programme OR other recognised foundation programme
Achievement of the International Baccalaureate Diploma (min. 24 points) OR equivalent internationally recognised high school qualification
IELTS (Academic): minimum overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5
TOEFL: minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test)
EAP: minimum final scores of 4,4,4,3
