Arts courses provide opportunities for you to develop important workplace skills, whether you are working towards a career in business, education or the non-profit sector. You’ll learn to challenge assumptions, communicate effectively, think critically and work cooperatively. Most importantly, you’ll be able to put ideas and issues into local, global and historical perspectives.

The Ancient Studies program examines early world civilizations. Through the study of history, politics, economics, literature, philosophy, religion, and art, students will learn how these civilizations laid some of the foundations of today's world. Graduates will be well prepared for careers in the law, teaching, the fine arts and business as well as graduate study in a wide range of disciplines. Individual courses as well as the joint program will be of particular interest to students in English, Languages & Literatures, Political Science, Legal Studies, Philosophy, Religion & Culture, and Business & Economics.

Students must have the following:

• Minimum admission range of Low 70s.
• Competitive admission range of Low 80s.
• English at 60%.

International Baccalaureate Requirements

• HL or SL English at 3.
• IB Minimum Score: 26.

English Proficiency

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component; Paper-based testing: 560 or higher.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.

Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) - 70 overall or higher (each band 60 or higher).

Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) - 59 overall or higher.

Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) - Overall score of 176.
